What membership in spdtc involves
spdtc is a volunteer-run dog training club in St. Paul. Membership gives you access to the building and discounted training runs, and it asks you to help keep the club running well for everyone.
The application path
Three steps to membership
Applications are straightforward. Complete a qualifying class, submit your application with two member endorsements, and attend a club meeting to be welcomed in.
Complete a qualifying class
Finish one of our obedience, agility, or nose work classes so the club knows how you and your dog work together.
Submit with endorsements
Send your application with endorsements from two current members who have worked with you in class.
Attend a club meeting
Come to a general meeting so you can meet the membership and learn how the club is run day to day.
Volunteer spirit
What members give back
Members keep the club going. That means ring steward shifts at trials, serving on trial committees, and caring for the facility, from building upkeep to tidying equipment after class.
We also ask every member to show mutual canine courtesy: keep dogs under control, respect other teams' working space, and give people room to train.
